This serious crimes unit investigated the organ trafficking allegations in Durban by St. Augustines hospital that also included the alleged illicit involvement of transplant doctors, nurses, translators, recipients, donors and many others (known in the media as the Netcare Case). The investigations led to several successful prosecutions.
In November 2012 the public prosecutor and lead investigator welcomed us on a study visit to research this important case. We will publish the results of this study towards the end of 2014.
